About VGFD
Valley Grassroots for Democracy is one of the largest Democratic Clubs in the San Fernando Valley. We support clean money, healthcare for all, election integrity, fiscal responsibility, and an end to the war in Iraq. And we support candidates who support those ideals. We are committed to win back the White House in 2008 while increasing the Democratic majority in the House and Senate.

YOU can make the difference for only $5

In about 4 months Americans will be voting for a new President and a new Congress and Californians will be voting on several important ballot measures.

Valley Grassroots for Democracy has committed to support efforts in the Valley through DPSFV's campaign office. In recent years this office has been the busiest and most productive in the entire state--not only did we make over 160,000 phone calls in 2006 but in the precincts we targeted turnout increased between 3% and 7%.

This year the office will target not only local voters but "Red to Blue" districts--Republican areas in California and nationwide where we have a good shot at getting Democrats elected. In 2006 calls were made to support the successful Congressional campaigns of Jerry McNerney in Central California and Gabrielle Giffords in Arizona.

Running the office isn't cheap--it will cost about $100,000 to pay for rent, phones, electricity, office supplies, and food for our army of volunteers. All of the money is raised locally, much of it from Democratic clubs like VGFD.

For the price of coffee and a bagel--$5--you can make a difference. By giving as little as $5 per month between now and November you will help get the office set up and keep it running through the election.

If only 5% of the people on our mailing list contribute $5 per month, we can double the VGFD contribution. By giving more than $5 you are helping that much more.

Won't you be one of the 5% and join us in making sure that we can reach out to voters and make this Democratic wave a reality?

Make your contribution today!

Thank you!

P.S. DPSFV is currently looking for an office location with the goal of opening it sometime in August.

P.P.S If you would prefer to make a one-time contribution with a check, make it out to Valley Grassroots for Democracy and mail it to VGFD, PO Box 573383, Tarzana, CA 91357

Community Service Opportunities

AIDS Project Los Angeles' Necessities of Life Food Bank
Founded in 1986, APLA’s Necessities of Life Program is the nation’s largest food pantry for people with HIV/AIDS. Groceries and other items are bagged at the main distribution center in North Hollywood for distribution to clients throughout Los Angeles County.

VGFD has committed volunteers for the 3rd Wednesday of each month from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm to help bag groceries in North Hollywood. Our next scheduled date is January 17. We need 10 people per month on an ongoing basis. More information about the food bank is at http://apla.org/programs/nolp.html
